Lived experience

Definition

Lived experience refers to people who have either current or past experience of mental ill-health or have cared for or supported someone living with mental ill-health. In some organisations, there are designated lived experience roles, in which someone with lived experience is employed to help bring the perspective of lived experience to the organisation's approach to creating a mentally healthy workplace.
