About this resource

Wellbeing helps us stay resilient, build social support and self-efficacy, and cope with adversity. This resource explains the 5 building blocks of wellbeing:

  • Positive emotion – feelings of pleasure, happiness, satisfaction, comfort
  • Engagement – being absorbed and connected to activities where we lose track of time and effort
  • Relationships – connections to other people
  • Meaning – being part of and working towards something that’s much larger than yourself
  • Accomplishment – success and mastery of things for their own sake.
