About this resource

With mentally unhealthy workplaces costing Australia up to $39 billion each year due to lost participation and productivity, the impact at individual, business, and economic levels requires understanding and action.

This white paper focuses on workplace mental health, including:

  • the shift to digitisation, automation, casualisation, and the gig economy
  • the impact on gender and our older and younger workers in Australian workplaces
  • the combined economic and health shocks of the global pandemic (where data is available)
  • what the data tells us and recommendations to improve the situation.
